The historical centre in the area that was within the Guimar\u00e3es city walls, is associated with the formation and identity of Portugal, and was classified a World Heritage site based on the originality and authenticity applied in its restoration. Guimar\u00e3es was recently into the shortlist for the European Green Capital.<br \/><\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: NewsGotT;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The University of Minho has several campi and research infrastructures mainly located in the cities of Braga and Guimar\u00e3es, from its more than twenty thousand students, more than 10% are international students <span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: NewsGotT;\">(<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uminho.pt\/EN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/www.uminho.pt\/EN<\/a><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: NewsGotT;\">).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: NewsGotT;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> You will carry out your academic activities in the Campus of Azur\u00e9m, Guimar\u00e3es.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: NewsGotT;\">The nearest airport is S\u00e1 Carneiro International airport (in Oporto) around 50 km away.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: NewsGotT;\">You can reach both cities by car, taxi, bus or train.
